Veg-Tanned or Vegetable Tanned leather is an old technology that has existed for around a thousand years. It takes up to a year to turn hides into leather. That extra time increases it's cost. All the hides used are byproducts of the meat industry. Only 1% of hides are made into leather. No animals are killed just to make our leather. We source our leather from ethical companies that don't pollute their environments.

Stainless steel costs 4 times as much as nickel plated steel. Most producers use the cheaper material. We don't because we feel the added expense is worth it. Our items will last your entire lifetime with a modicum of care. Less need to replace worn gear means less going to the landfill.
