Whilst many manufacturers use synthetic or composite/bonded leather, which while they look similar, vary greatly in quality from Full Grain leather. Full Grain is the finest quality leather available, and is known for its durability. If you have ever had a leather item crack or tear and noticed the inside is fluffy and is easily pulled apart you have experienced the flaws of composite/bonded leather. Full Grain leather will not deteriorate in that way, and instead will become softer and more supple over time. Synthetic and composite/bonded leather is significantly cheaper, and unbeknownst to most people can still legally be marketed as 'genuine leather'. We at Mercy Industries understand the frustration of buying 'genuine leather' items that don't last the test of time, and it is this experience in part that lead us to start making our own products. This is why when you purchase a Mercy Industries product you can be confident in knowing that it will never be made from synthetic or composite/bonded leather.
