This small, simple flogger is astonishingly effective for its size and price. It CAN be used more or less sensually if applied gently, but "laid on with a will" it will redden and break skin while delivering a hot, stingy, burning sensation. It is NOT to be underestimated. Specifications: there are 5 eighteen inch long fairly stiff tails of "4-5 oz" of chrome tanned utility leather. The handle is a lightly textured rubber-like plastic. The Brown Basic is NOT a "toy", and is probably not for total novices, but IS a good "first step up" from small soft and sensual floggers.
