No listing fees, no monthly subscription. You only pay when you sell. Here is exactly what comes out of each sale, with the maths shown.
The short version
- Spicerack commission: 5% of the order total, meaning your products plus shipping. Sales tax is not included.
- Card processing: 3.49% + $0.30 per order, on the amount the buyer paid.
- Sales tax: we collect it from the buyer and send it to the tax authorities for you. It is never part of your payout, and never counted as your income.
The same 5% applies to every shop. No tiers, no special deals.
A worked example (card order)
A buyer orders a $100 harness, you charge $10 shipping, and $8 sales tax is added at checkout. The buyer pays $118.
- Order total for commission: $100 + $10 = $110
- Commission: 5% of $110 = $5.50
- Processing: 3.49% of $118 + $0.30 = $4.42
- Sales tax: $8, sent to the tax authority
- Your payout: $110 − $5.50 − $4.42 = $100.08
PayPal orders
When the buyer pays with PayPal, PayPal splits the money at checkout. Spicerack’s 5% commission (and the sales tax) come off first, and the rest lands in your PayPal account within minutes. PayPal then charges its own processing fee to your PayPal account. That fee is set by PayPal, not by us, so check your PayPal fee schedule for the exact rate where you are.
Where to see it
Every payout in your seller dashboard shows the order, the commission and the amount paid to you. For card orders, your Stripe Express dashboard (Seller tools → Stripe Connect) shows each transfer and when it reaches your bank. For PayPal orders, your PayPal activity shows the payment and PayPal’s fee.

Something does not add up?
