This flogger was made from a real, used fire hose. 40 strips of hose end in a turned wooden handle. The transition is made with an artistic knot from a strip of hose. In contrast to a leather flogger, the hose is very heavy and the edges are sharp. The inside of the hose is made of rubber with a robust fabric glued to it. The fabric was melted on the side so that it doesn't unravel with use. This means that the strips on the edges are not smooth but sharp and uneven.
Each flogger is unique; each handle is different solely due to the grain of the wood. I turn the handles individually by hand, so the shape is always similar, but never completely identical.
