Steel toys are the ones people photograph. They are also, counterintuitively, some of the most functional objects in the category, because two properties nothing else has combine here: absolute rigidity and serious weight. If you have plateaued with silicone and cannot work out why, this is usually the answer.
Why weight and rigidity matter
Nothing absorbs. Silicone gives, and that give soaks up pressure you were trying to apply. Steel transfers every bit of it. For g-spot or prostate work, where firm pressure is the mechanism, that difference is the whole point.
The weight does the work. A steel wand weighs one to two pounds. Once positioned, gravity and mass provide pressure your wrist would otherwise have to generate, which means longer sessions without fatigue.
Temperature is a second toy. Steel holds hot and cold far longer than glass. Warm water for a few minutes, or the fridge for ten, and the same object becomes a completely different experience.
It lasts forever. Nonporous, sterilizable, dishwasher safe, and effectively indestructible. This is a buy-once object.

njoy Pure Wand: the legend, and it earns it
Two pounds of medical grade stainless steel, a 1 inch bulb at one end and 1.5 inches at the other, with a deep curve between them. It has been the most recommended g-spot toy in the world for over a decade and nothing has displaced it.
Priced at MSRP here, which is what every legitimate retailer charges, so the differentiator is that ours ships free in a plain box. The double ended design means you are effectively buying two toys, and the curve is the reason people describe it in terms usually reserved for religious experiences.
Le Wand Arch: the modern alternative
Stainless steel with Le Wand’s design sensibility, double ended with differently sized ends. Lighter than the njoy and slightly more forgiving in the curve, which some people prefer.
And the glass alternative
If steel’s weight sounds like more than you want, the Pipedream Icicles range gives you the same rigidity and temperature play at a fraction of the weight and price. Our glass guide covers them properly.
Using steel well
- Warm it first. Room temperature steel feels cold. A bowl of warm water for a few minutes fixes it. Test on your wrist.
- Any lube you like. Steel does not react with silicone lube, so this is one of the few places you can use the long lasting stuff freely.
- Let the weight work. Do not thrust. Position it, apply gentle pressure, and rock or curl. See the technique section of our g-spot guide.
- Mind the drop. Two pounds of steel on a tile floor damages the tile, not the toy. And on hard surfaces, it will chip glass toys it lands on.
- Cleaning is trivial. Soap and water, boiling, or the dishwasher. This is the easiest toy in the drawer to own.
FAQ
Is it too hard? Firm is the feature. Go slowly and use plenty of lube, and the rigidity becomes the reason you keep reaching for it rather than a problem.
Is steel safe internally? Medical grade stainless is one of the most body safe materials that exists. Nonporous, hypoallergenic, and genuinely sterilizable.
Can I use it anally? The njoy has a flared handle end. Any steel toy used anally needs a proper flare or retrieval loop, no exceptions.
Steel or glass? Steel for weight and pressure, glass for lightness and price. Both master temperature play. Glass is the cheaper way to find out whether rigid toys suit you.
