Full Grain leather will not deteriorate in that way, and instead will become softer and more supple over time. Synthetic and composite/bonded leather is significantly cheaper, and unbeknownst to most people can still legally be marketed as 'genuine leather'. We at Mercy Industries understand the frustration of buying 'genuine leather' items that don't last the test of time, and it is this experience in part that lead us to start making our own products.
