Pjur is a German pharmaceutical company that happens to make lube, and it shows in ways that are mostly good and occasionally funny. The bottles look like medical supplies, the naming reads like a product catalogue rather than a brand, and the formulas are engineered to a degree that borders on excessive. If you want lube that works and do not care about the bottle looking nice on a nightstand, this is your brand.
The thing Pjur does better than anyone
Concentration. Pjur’s silicone formulas use so little product per application that the price per use undercuts almost everything, despite bottles that look expensive on the shelf. A few drops genuinely does what a palmful of cheaper lube does.
The second thing is consistency. Pjur formulas do not go tacky as they dry, because most of them are engineered not to dry at all in any meaningful sense. That is a specific problem with cheaper water based lube that Pjur solved by simply being better at chemistry.
The lines, decoded
- Original is the flagship concentrated silicone.
- Light is a thinner silicone for people who find Original too rich.
- Woman is formulated slightly differently, generally lighter, with a Nude version stripped of additives entirely.
- Aqua is the water based line.
- Basic is the budget silicone, and it is still good.
- Back Door and Analyse Me are the anal ranges, in both bases.
- Med is the sensitive skin line, designed for people who react to everything else.

Basic Silicone: the best value silicone lube we sell
Twenty dollars for a 100ml bottle that will last months because of how little you need. If you have never used silicone lube, start here rather than with the concentrated versions. Read our silicone guide first, because the one hard rule about silicone toys applies.
Aqua: the water based workhorse
Denser than most water based formulas, closer to a silicone feel, and completely toy safe. This is the bottle for people who want silicone longevity but own silicone toys. See our water based guide.
Woman Nude: the one for sensitive skin
No glycerin, no parabens, no perfume, no preservatives. Genuinely minimal. If lube has irritated you before, this and the Med line are the two to try before concluding lube is not for you.
Med Natural Glide
The medical line, formulated for sensitive skin and postmenopausal dryness. Unglamorous packaging, serious product.
Original and Woman Concentrated
The flagship silicones. Expensive per bottle, cheap per use, and they last through anything including water. The 250ml Original is the one to buy if you already know you like it.
Analyse Me and Back Door
The anal ranges, in water based and silicone. Both thicker and longer lasting than the standard lines, with jojoba added. Our anal lube guide covers when to pick which base.
Which one should you buy
First Pjur: Basic Silicone, or Aqua if you own silicone toys.
Sensitive skin: Woman Nude or Med.
Anal: Back Door silicone for long sessions, Analyse Me water based if silicone toys are involved.
Best long term value: the 250ml Original Concentrated, given how little you use per application.
Pjur versus the alternatives
Against Sliquid: Sliquid wins on minimal ingredient lists and sensitive skin philosophy, Pjur wins on engineering and longevity. Against Wicked: Wicked has broader flavour and novelty range at lower prices, Pjur has better core formulas. All three are genuinely good; the differences are real but small.
FAQ
Is Pjur worth the price? Per use, it is often cheaper than budget lube because of the concentration. Per bottle, it looks expensive. Judge on the former.
Is it safe with condoms? Yes, water based and silicone both. Only oil damages latex, as covered in our condom guide.
Silicone with silicone toys? No. Never. Use Aqua or Analyse Me instead.
Why does it feel different from water based? Silicone sits on the surface instead of absorbing, so the glide does not change through a session. That is the entire appeal.
