The prostate is a walnut sized gland about two inches inside the rectum, toward the front of the body, and it is dense with nerve endings. That is the entire anatomical case. Everything else about this category is people getting past a mental barrier that has nothing to do with anatomy and everything to do with what they were told growing up.
What actually happens
Stimulating the prostate produces a sensation most people describe as deeper and more full bodied than external orgasm, often longer, and sometimes without ejaculation. It works the same way regardless of who you are attracted to, which should be obvious and evidently is not.
Physiologically it is the same organ that gets checked at a routine exam. The difference is intent, pressure and preparation.
What makes a prostate toy different
- A pronounced curve so the tip angles toward the front wall rather than straight in. Straight toys largely miss.
- A bulbous head that concentrates pressure on a small area.
- A flared base or handle, non negotiable for anything anal. This is a safety requirement, not a design preference.
- Firmness. Same principle as the g-spot: soft silicone absorbs the pressure you are trying to apply. Steel transfers all of it.

Wicked Jelle Plus
Not a toy. The lube, and it is not optional. Botanical relaxants, no numbing agents. Read our anal lube guide before your first attempt, because lube is where most bad first experiences come from.
How to actually do this
- Empty bowels beforehand and shower. That is the entire hygiene requirement. Full douching is optional and easy to overdo.
- Trim nails, or use gloves. Especially with fingers.
- Get aroused first. The prostate is far more responsive and the muscle far more relaxed when you already are. Rushing this is the single most common mistake.
- Start with one lubed finger, palm up, aiming toward the belly button. Two inches in, feel for a firm rounded area with a slightly different texture.
- Press and hold, or curl. Come-hither motion. Steady pressure, not thrusting.
- Expect the urge to pee. Completely normal, caused by pressure near the bladder, and it passes.
- More lube than you think, reapplied often. No exceptions.
If anything hurts, stop. Pain means too fast, too big, or not enough lube. And skip numbing products entirely, for exactly that reason.
FAQ
Does enjoying this mean anything about my sexuality? No. It is a nerve dense gland that responds to pressure. Preference and anatomy are unrelated.
Will I ejaculate? Sometimes, sometimes not, and there is often a fluid release without a typical orgasm. All of it is normal.
Can I do it solo? Yes, though the angle is awkward with fingers, which is exactly the problem curved toys exist to solve.
Is it safe? Yes, with a flared base, plenty of lube, patience, and no numbing agents. The prostate is not delicate, but the tissue around it is.
How often? No medical limit. Let comfort decide.
