Many enjoy the tension of a stretched position, but without much give in the materials, it tends to cause circulation issues quickly. So with these bungee tension straps the intent is give that being stretched or held down feeling while having some flex/give before maxing out length.
Heavy duty 1" tubular webbing is used with 4 shockcord strands inside to give the tension effect. Although not made for full human load bearing, they are made for general hard use and not to be confused with cheap polyester BDSM products.
Another problem these straps try and solve is that usually not a lot of rope is needed to connect bondage, yet 15 feet is considered a standard short rope length.

The loop size allows lots of versatility to adjust the overall length and security considerations. For example connecting sides with knots or using carabiners or even wrapping back around to the connection point to make them "half size".
